Year 1

Welcome to Year 1 2025 - 2026!

The children’s time Year One is special at Our Lady of the Assumption. It is their first year beginning their learning journey on The National Curriculum; celebrating exploration and discovery. All children learn foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics while exploring exciting topics like humans including animals, seasons, and world cultures, which spark their curiosity and expand their understanding. This year all children begin to develop their independence, taking on responsibilities and making choices that encourage self-confidence. As they navigate this enriching curriculum, they not only acquire knowledge but also cultivate a sense of wonder and a lifelong love of learning.
