Meet the Governors

Welcome to our Governors’ section. 


Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.

The Structure of our Governing Board.

There are 12 members of our Governing Board; 7 Foundation Governors, 2 Parent Governors, an Authority Governor, a Staff Governor and the Headteacher.

We hold 5 meetings for the full Governing Board during the course of each academic year.

We have a number of committees:

  • The Finance, Premises, Health and Safety Committee meets 3 times each year.
  • The Staffing and Curriculum Committee meets 3 times each year.
  • The Admissions Committee meets during the Spring term for admissions to Reception class and at other times during the year as required.
  • The Pay Committee meets during the Autumn Term, we also have a Pay Appeals Committee.  
  • The Headteacher Performance Management Review Committee meets during the Autumn term.
  • We also have a Policy Group meeting each term.

Meet the Governors.

Peter Byrne is our Chair of Governors and a Foundation Governor.

He was appointed by the Archdiocese of Liverpool and his term of office is 13/11/18 to 12/11/22.

Peter is responsible for Governor Training and Attendance and is link Governor for Year 5.

He is a member of the following committees:

Finance, Premises and Health and Safety, Staffing and Curriculum, Admissions, Pay, Headteacher’s Performance Management Review.

He has no declared business interests and does not serve on any other Governing Board.

 

Judith Cooke is our Vice Chair of Governors and a Foundation Governor.

She was appointed by the Archdiocese of Liverpool and her term of office is 23/09/17 to 22/09/21.

Judith is responsible for Pupil Premium and Health and Safety and is link Governor for Year 2.

She is a member of the following committees:

Finance, Premises and Health and Safety (Chair), Staffing and Curriculum, Pay, Headteacher’s Performance Management Review.

She is also a member of our Policy Group.

She has no declared business interests and does not serve on any other Governing Board.

 

Fr Stephen Pritchard is Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and is a Foundation Governor.

He regularly visits school to see staff and pupils and children and staff  come into the church for celebrations. Father Stephen is also chaplain at Hope University and Dean of the local area.

He was appointed by the Archdiocese of Liverpool and his term of office is 01/03/20 to 29/02/24.

Fr Stephen is responsible for EYFS and is link Governor for Year 1.

He has no declared business interests but serves on the Governing Board of St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School in Liverpool.

 

Nicola Harrop is a Parent Governor.

She is an elected Parent Governor and her term of office is 01/04/18 to 31/03/22.

Nicola is responsible for SEND and is link Governor for Nursery and Reception.

She is a member of the following committees:

Finance, Premises and Health and Safety.

She is also a member of our Policy Group.

She is a teacher at St Christopher’s Catholic Primary School in Liverpool and her husband is Headteacher at St Mary’s CE Primary School in West Derby, Liverpool.

 

Stacy Coulter is a Parent Governor.

She is an elected Parent Governor and her term of office is 01/04/18 to 31/03/22.

Stacy is responsible for English and is link Governor for Year 4.

She is a member of the following committees:

Staffing and Curriculum (Chair).

She has no declared business interests and does not serve on any other Governing Board.

 

Catherine Kehoe is our Local Authority Governor.

She was appointed by Liverpool City Council and her term of office is 01/04/20 to 31/03/24.

Catherine is responsible for Mathematics and is link Governor for Year 3.

She is a member of the following committees:

Staffing and Curriculum, Pay, Headteacher’s Performance Management Review.

She has no declared business interests and does not serve on any other Governing Board.

 

Martin Burke is Headteacher of the school and has served on the Governing Board since 2010.

He is a Director of ‘Food for Thought’ a not-for-profit school meals company owned by schools. He was previously a Foundation Governor at St Charles’ Catholic Primary school and his term of office ended in August 2020.

 

Angela Keogh is our Staff Governor.

She is an elected staff governor and her term of office is 21/01/20 to 20/01/24.

She has no declared business interests and does not serve on any other Governing Board.

 

Kate McKenzie was a Foundation Governor.

She was appointed by the Archdiocese of Liverpool and her term of office is 16/11/17 to 15/11/21. Kate stepped down from the Governing Body in November 2020.

Kate was responsible for RE and Safeguarding and is link Governor for Year 6.

She was a member of the following committees:

Finance, Premises and Health and Safety (Chair), Staffing and Curriculum.

She had no declared business interests but she works at St Marie’s Catholic Primary School in Knowsley.

 

Paul McEvitt was a Foundation Governor.

He was appointed by the Archdiocese of Liverpool and his term of office is 01/12/17 to 30/11/21. Paul stepped down from the Governing Body in October 2020.

Paul was responsible for Health and Safety.

He was a member of the following committees:

Finance, Premises and Health and Safety, Pay appeals, Headteacher’s Performance Management Review.

He had no declared business interests and did not serve on any other Governing Board.

 

Pam McGuffie was a Foundation Governor.

She was appointed by the Archdiocese of Liverpool and her term of office is 18/06/18 to 17/06/22. Pam stepped down from the Governing Body in October 2020.

Pam was a member of the following committees:

Staffing and Curriculum, Pay.

She had no declared business interests but is Headteacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Primary School in Halton.
